Replacement Sim activation

My phone was stolen over the weekend but luckily I was due for an upgrade anyway and Sky have sent the replacement SIM.  

 

I have put the SIM card in (keeping the same number) and input the activation code online. It says it should all be up and running in a few minutes but it has been 2 hours and nothing is happening. Is this a case of me just being patient and its taking a while for some reason or a sign that somethings not right? 

 

I do not have another phone to use so cannot call Sky directly (until tonight). I have no access to my emails either as I am locked out of pretty much everything, so if they are trying to contact me via that I unfortunately cannot respond.

Put the SIM card into what?

But without a phone to return you are fully liable for any outstanding credit.  Essentially, you just have to purchase a new device.

No, my new handset was on route to me already when my old one was stolen. It just so happened to coincide timing wise. 


So I have my new mobile and I have a physical sim card which Sky posted to me when I reported that mine had been lost. I have put the sim card into my handset and activated it but so far nothing is happening.

Right, it usually takes a few minutes to activate a replacement SIM.

 

But it may take longer...

Hi @RP261  have you tried turning your phone off with the sim in, leave for a few minutes then restart?

Hello,  Yes I tried this initially after 1 hour when nothing had happened. And I tried again just now but to no avail.
