Hi all, just wanted to share experience of a Scam that my 72 year old Dad fell for 🫣
"Sky" called him saying he was a valued customer and that he had got some deal where they wanted to send him a new Samsung watch. He gave them information (which was obviously the details to his account) and the next day he received a package of his new Samsung watch. But when he opened it it was a brand new Samsung phone. Next thing his mobile rings and it's "sky" saying that they have made a mistake and that he had received the wrong package and can he please send it back to sky or a currier will come and collect it from his house! So then next day along comes this currier and the phones goes back to "Sky" only the following day the phone comes back to my dads and he's ringing "sky" (on the number they have provided him to call) and they apologise again and send another Currier to collect this phone.
This goes on for a few more days and then another phone turns up by which time I'm telling my dad it's a bloody scam and check his account on sky, low and behold 3 brand new Samsung mobile contracts have been started and sent out to him.
Luckily the 3rd phone did not get sent and still at my Dads and Sky have kindly wiped the account and are helping my dad sort it out and it won't end up costing him anything.
when the original call came through is came up on my dads phone as Sky - they must have cloned the number.
Pretty elaborate scam, on hindsight lots of red flags but these old boomers will only learn the hard way!! 🤣

I received a phone call this morning them saying it was sky that my mobile number had been picked to have my contract put to one complete payment, and I will receive a brand new apple watch witch is when I said I don't have a iPhone, only Samsung so she then turned around and said we are sending you the new Samsung tablet they wanted my address witch I confirmed then and they they kept asking for my password witch I gave them as well. Now apparently it's all being delivered tomorrow but I want them having my details I have cancelled blocked my bank account so will be receiving a new one I just want to get my sky back to being safe.
