Phone tracking
Hello, my question is can people find my location through my phone number? I tried to ask Sky help but I was disconnected and I need to know because whether or not it's possible to track me down using my phone number depends on what action i might take next. Thanks

The short answer is no.
However, (aside from law enforcement) there are other ways such as an app (e.g. Snapchat or Life360) or via the OS (e.g. Find my iPhone) - but they either require access (either granted or via underlying account).

Re: Phone tracking
How easy is it for somebody to find out using unlawful means? I don't need to know how they would because obviously that probably shouldn't be posted on a forum maybe lol?? But could they potentially use it to track me through hacking etc? (i don't know a lot about cyber security, sorry). Fyi my location is always off on everything except for What3Words, Apple maps and similar

If your location services are disabled then your device cannot be located.
(Law enforcement could potentially triangulate from masts but it is unlikely in the extreme anyone else could do this)

Re: Phone tracking
Okay thanks so much. I essentially had a bit of a scare because my phone number was leaked somewhere on a quite unfriendly forum lol but I don't think anything will happen now + your info is reassuring. Thank you and have a nice evening 😊
