Phone received damaged

Ordered a new phone on Thursday, was told DPD would deliver the following day or Saturday at latest. Nothing, came home from work Monday and parcel had been left outside, not signed for & had been attacked by dog. Brand new phone was lying on street!

How do you know it was 'attacked' by a dog? 

If the phone is damaged you'll need to call Sky and report it. They'll open a joint investigation with DPD to establish what happened. Leaving it outside without a signature / seeing photo I.D. / or photo of delivery taking place would be very unusual.
