Number Spoofing
Hi everyone, I've come to the conclusion that my number is being spoofed. I'm regularly getting calls from random strangers saying they've missed a call from me.
Have tried to contact Sky through the mobile live chat but no luck yet. Is there anything that can be done please to stop this?
Other than changing the number! I've had this number for 20 years so really don't want to have a new one.

Unfortunately not currently.
I've had this number for 20 years so really don't want to have a new one.
They usually move on after a while... Just to be clear, your account or phone is not compromised, they are simply making the call look like it's from that number.

This has just happened to me this morning: an irate woman called me, saying that I called her earlier and I was trying to scam her and get into her iPad. I tried to explain that I had no idea what she was talking about, but she didn't believe me and hung up. I have used this number for almost 20 years for my business, and this kind of thing could end up damaging people's reputations.
I completely understand where she was coming from, and if I were in her shoes, I would have probably felt the same way. I called Sky and reported the issue, and they told me that there was no suspicious activity on my account, but it was the second call that he has received today about the same issue.

I had an issue like this with Sky when I retained a number. It seems it's an issue if you have an iPhone. The original number was then reallocated to another chap and I started getting texts and calls from his son when he was trying to contact his dad. Similarly I was getting calls from numbers I had no idea who they were. Get in contact on the phone with Sky. This was the only way I was able to resolve it
