New mobile with no service

My son is trying to use his SIM card in a new unlocked phone but when he does put it in it's not coming up with any network service so what can be done?

If the Sky sim was working in another phone then that suggests an issue with that phone so I would suggest going back to where you got it from for help.

In that case @Batty2583  call sky on 150 to request a replacement sim.
