it's saying call failed when I try to make a call no sky coming up on the top of the phone and a error saying contact sky

Yes untill I set up a new phone with the same iCloud for my son now my sim won't work

Have you tried sending the network settings to the phone. 

 

This should be what you need to do:


Go to sky.com/networksettings (My Account > Mobile > Settings) and sign in with your Sky iD.
Select the mobile number or SIM name you're having trouble with.
Scroll to 'Resend network settings' and select Request settings.
Save the settings when your receive them and reboot your phone.

My sim isn't working either, this happened to me two months ago. I was sent a new Sim but I later found out my phone account was hacked into. 

 

It worked fine this morning and yet this afternoon I cannot make a call or use my data.

Each person should have their own iCloud account.  Re-using the same account will cause issues.

I've reset it and put a new one on but my sim won't work
