We have still on our bill for an iPhone 15 which we swapped, but it's still on the bill

Billing will continue for 2-3 weeks as the phone will be inspected for damage by the company that handles the returns then a final valuation will be given based on the condition of it. At this point if you owe no more than the billing should cease.
