I am getting the same and it is the number that Sky has given me however I can't change the number in my phone as when I do and hit save it goes back to the sky number again. Been trying to get this sorted now for months as I get a text on my old number, but when I reply it comes up in a new text feed on their phone.
If anyone has manged to sort theirs please could you let me know

Find out moreTo get you some help with this I have escalated your post to the Sky Messaging team who will be in touch with you regarding this via a blue/red chat bubble which will appear at the bottom of this page. It can take up to 24 hours to be contacted via this.
This link explains how this works:

When the chat bubble does appear you have 48 hours to respond or it will be automatically closed. This isn't a live chat so replies are not instant.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI had the same problem the other day after my number was ported to Sky, I found I had to turn off Wi-Fi on the phone to change the default number to my transferred number.

Thanks for this however I have just tried it and also in airplane mode (just in case) but it still keeps the default when I press save.

Managed to sort it, I had to also turn off iMessage and FaceTime first switched the phone off and then back on and turned them back on and it changed the number for me automatically. You got me started so thank you very much

When you disable Wi-Fi on the phone does it show you're using cellular internet?
I would turn off Wi-Fi as mentioned & also try deleting the number & saving this so it shows nothing, then entering your number like this 44 (0)123456789- naturally you would enter your actual number. & click save.

I've just had the same issue on Samsung phones. People could call and text 'my' number but my replies were coming from the new sim number. Turns out, my texts were going through as 'chat' messages rather than texts, so I switched off the chat feature in the text settings which has now worked - all texts show from 'my' number.
