Keeping Piggybank data from old sim
I have a sky sim with about 140gb of data saved on it . I would like to purchase a new phone + plan. How do I go about keeping my data from the original sim.? Is this even possible? I am guessing I would get a new sim added to my account with the new phone, could I transfer all the gb saved on to the new sim and then shut down my old sim, ie end that contract?

Re: Keeping Piggybank data from old sim
Your data isn't saved on the sim it is on your account so any saved data is in your piggybank. If you order a new sim (and phone) then as long as it on the same account that you other sim is on then they both will have access to the saved data in your piggybank. The keep the piggybank active you must have at least one sim on it.
You cancel a sim once you have been paying for it for 12 months or more and to do so call Sky on 150.
The new sim will have a different number attached to it.

Re: Keeping Piggybank data from old sim
Mant thanks 4 the reply. My data isn't saved on the sim but it is attached to my mobile number. If I get a new plan I don't understand how I would be able to keep the saved data, I don't think I can.........anyone asked about this before? Any help appreciated.

As long as the new sim is on the same account that the other one is on then you will have access to this saved data so what you need to do is:
Order your new sim on the same account and activate it when it turns up and when it is up and working call Sky on 150 to cancel the other one. You will then have a new mobile number.

Re: Keeping Piggybank data from old sim
Sorry, I have been away from technology for a while.. I guess I could change my data plan, say to 100mb, reduce my costs for a while, from 11.50 to 3 pounds, and use up my data (assuming I can keep what's stored)??

Re: Keeping Piggybank data from old sim
If the 100mb sim is showing as being available then you will have to order a new sim before being able to get it which would then calling to cancel your other one. You could ask them if they would apply the 100mb plan to your current sim.
