Japan Data

My Son is traveling to Japan in a week.  He has 50gb of rolled over data to use.  Will be be able to utilise this? Does he need to turn on data roaming to use this?

Hi @Mike246  Japan is not covered with the sky £2 daily roaming charge, it's £2.16 per MEGABIT of data , not GIg so will be very expensive to use any data there. He won't have access to just use his piggybank. To make sure he doesn't incur massive charges he should turn off roaming and mobile data in his phone settings BEFORE leaving the UK and turn on flight mode. Activate WiFi in Japan whilst still in flight mode when free WiFi available. Also consider a cheap local sim.
