I can't make outbound or receive calls using mobile covering Skegness.

I have been a loyal person for SKY services for over 4 years,  but this is the 4th time that my Mobile services have been impacted, since yesterday (wednesday 28th January) I can't make or receive calls on my SKY Mobile, and today while trying to check what is happening there is no update.

Why can't SKY just update all their customers that are affected with the status of the mobile network which we pay for, even if its email, and the annying thing here is that SKY has just added additional costs to their mobile plans to improve their network?  How is this an improvement?

When will SKY remember that without customers there is no SKY!  Get your act together, as I am running out of patience.

Sky don't own a network as such.  They are a MVNO.  (Also, if there is an outage sending an email or SMS may not be received...)

Like most telecoms firms they do not broadcast issues but provide a page to check your localised issue: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/service-status-sky-mobile

Always, worth trying a phone reboot (or at the very least turning cellular off and back on again).

Re: I can't make outbound or receive calls using mobile covering Skegness.

maybe I should have been a little more accurate.

I don't like long forum posts.
What I should have included:

I have checked yesterday (28 Jan) at 10:04am (to be pricise) the service checker:

Looks like a nearby phone mast isn’t working as it should, sorry.

Our engineers will be on the case already, and your service might come and go until we fix it.

Updated 10:04 (refreshed hourly). Recent faults might not show yet.
I have registered for an update.
24 hours later no update.
Have I restarted my phone, yes many times, 8 times yesterday and 5 times today, am I bored and reluctant to keep restarting my phone yes I am.
Am I frustrated - Yes I am
Am I fed up - Yes I am
Have I got means to make outbound calls - yes I have  but costs me an arm and leg so try to avoid it (using broadband).
Is this the first time SKY have let me down - No it's not.

And you are correct Sky doesn't own the network as such, however my neighbour is on another provider who doesn't have an issue.  So this is obviously affecting SKY/O2 contracts.
MY point here, is that every year SKY mobile bills go up, which is fine, providing they are using the additional cost to make things stable (as they claim every time they increase prices), we are at an age where technology is stable, so having mobiles fail for incoming and outgoling calls that now renders your phone absolute useless, then it is debatable why SKY increases their bills in the first place if they don't own the mast or network.

The reason why I rasied this in this forum, is to make people aware there is a problem as well as hoping that SKY would respond with an update rather me sitting on the fence waiting for something and checking every minute seeing if the service is back on line.

Sorry for the rant, but I suspect you are not having issues.

They generally only provide an update where this is one.  That can take days or even weeks depending on the issue with the mast.

No - that is the nature of mobiles as I'm not in Skegness.

Can you not use WiFi calling?  That would cost no more than using cellular.
