In the vicinity of any border, it's quite possible to be physically closer to a cell mast located in a country other than the one you are actually standing in: that generally wouldn't matter much elsewhere in Europe but becomes crucial to be aware of at its periphery because of the potentially huge difference in cost (£2 per day vs several pounds per megabyte)

Unfortunately, yes, at the £2.16 per megabyte 'rest of the world' rate, because Albania isn't within the EU/EEA where £2 per day to access a UK bundle applies.

Good point, I didn't and it did stop working in Greece for the remainder of my holiday due to the spending cap so the cost should be 45 pound. I'll give them a ring as it's pretty excessive otherwise.
