My phone wont connect to wifi or Bluetooth, sky aren't going to fix it or google, legal consumer right state that in scotland I have 5 years that the device can be repaired due to a known hardware fault. How do I get sky to repair this phone?

I'm assuming it's out of warranty?

AIUI it's the same CRA 2015 as per England.

The 5 years is the limitation period to bring a claim in Scotland (6 years in England).  It does not give an automatic right to repair.

So, after 6 months, you would have to show the fault was present at the time of purchase which is notoriously difficult to do.

...although a bit of Googling suggests you might not be alone.  (But there doesn't appear to be any public acknowledgement from Google of a known fault).

Interestingly, the problem seems to have been triggered by a software update but possibly remains in later versions.  Issues could be heat related where certain chips are disabled with moderate heat - reports of people putting them in freezers to get them to work!

Have a Google yourself - most of the advice seems to be to contact Google themselves about it.  However, your legal route would be via the retailer.

But if you cannot convince Sky to repair/replace then your legal options always remain.

I think it will be out off warranty as the phone is jsut 2 years old now. I have googled all the repairs to do myself and nothing has worked. Going through so much data and costing a fortune!

I suspect that's 'known' as in publicly acknowledged by the manufacturer or supplier, which as noted above is almost never the case unless they've lost or settled a class action.
