Esim

Have changed from O2 to sky mobile.. but getting no network service or cannot make any phone calls

Has it worked since Sky told you that your number had transferred and do you have an iphone ?

Try refreshing the network settings so go Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then go to Settings - Phone - My Number and change it if it is wrong, then reboot the phone. You will need to set up your Wifi connection again.

You need to go into the settings as set it as your primary number:

 

Go to Settings > Cellular > Default Voice Line and selected your preferred one.

If I select primary.. I get no network service.. 

if I select travel.. I get 5g coverage and all works apart from ...i  still cannot make phone calls 

both primary and travel have my number in ... trying to delete travel.. does not let me..

it's like travel is active and primary is not

Does this help:

 

Tap Settings.
Tap Cellular or Mobile Data.
Tap the phone number you're wanting to relabel.
Tap the current label.
Then tap a new label or custom label you'd like to use.

I have tried this but it looks like the temporary number sky gave me while transferring to my original number is registered... 

I have overridden the temporary number with my number but still no joy.. 

looks like the temporary eSIM is recognised and my original number is not working..

 

There are two eSIM showing on phone both with my number.. primary.. no network service.... travel.. showing O2 sky service
