Contract iPhone faulty after 15 months. Do I have consumer rights for a repair

Daughter's iPhone has an Apple diagnosed hardware issue which started with a boot loop and now means the phone is inaccessible (started Monday and couldn't turn on as of Tuesday nihgt).
I still have ££270 to pay on the contract.
what are my consumer rights?

Apple give a 12 months warranty - so no help there.

For items failing within 6 months the fault is assumed to have been present at purchase and the retailer has to repair or replace (unless they can show otherwise).  After 6 months the burden reverses - you would have to show the fault was present at purchase, which may be difficult.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Thanks for swift reply. So I don't really have any back up for this... need to just pay the remainder and purchase a new phone? Had hoped the Apple diagnostic (stating no damage to the phone) might help but you think not?
Frustrating!
