Christmas present

I've got my daughter a iPhone for Christmas I don't want to activate it till then it's on a contract do I need to set it up now or can I wait 🤔

The iPhone itself doesn't need to be activated it but if you ordered a data plan so you have a sim this has to be activated within 30 days or it will be cancelled. If this applies to you then you can always order a new sim neater Christmas but the same offers that are available now might not be there when you do come to order another sim.
