Changed data plan

Hi all, I was just looking through my data plan as my allowance had ran out, I noticed my data plan which was 2gb and another plan (3gb) was the same price so I changed my plan to this, my bill has now changed and they have added an extra £10 every month on top for the new plan, it is listed as unlimited minutes, calls and texts. I already had this on my other plan. Has anyone else had this happen and no how to resolve it. thanks for reading, I look forward to your responses.

Hi @DBate58  give sky a call on 150 as that sounds like the free calls and texts has been added at £10 when it should be free.

@DBate58  If it's added another amount to you bill did you definately change the existing plan or order a new one instead?  How many sims do you now see on your account?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

There was a similar post the other day - it looks like the legacy charge of £10 is triggered under certain changes.  (There used to be a £10 charge per month for unlimited calls but was discounted by £10 if you had TV - this requirement was removed)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own

Re: Changed data plan

This is strange I have 2 accounts and changed both plans from 2gb to 3gb but only the 1account has added an extra £10. Thanks for your reply I will phone them and see what's going on.

e: Changed data plan

I would like to do the same as you, trouble is I don't know if I would keep all of my piggy banked data after seitching. Were you able to keep all of yours?

Hi @richard0292  yes you keep all of your piggybank as long as the account is open (subject to the 3 year rule).

Re: Changed data plan

Thank you for your response.

What exactly does the 3 year rule imply for carrying over unused data?

Unused banked data will stay in your piggybank for 3 years and if not used will disappear from the piggybank. So for example if you banked some data in May 2020 it will disappear this month if you haven't already used it.
