Cancelling sky mobile

I received a letter from sky telling me that they are changing my charges and it stated that if I'm not happy with the increases I could cancel within my contractural period to avoid early termination fees if I called them within 30 days.

I've since spent nearly 10 hours on the phone to them and they refuse to let me leave with out charging. I've recorded many hours of these painful phone calls with numerous people telling me they will start a complaint for me and they promise to call me back. They never do and the are all lying to me to get me off the phone. I also had one person tell me it's all sorted and she had waved the fees just to find out she hadn't.  I confronted her about it and she said she would call me back the next day when she had sorted out the system error, well you guessed it she didn't bother.

I've send proof of this email over to them numerous times and it's all just a joke. I've cancelled one of my numbers now and have been charged the early termination charge.

how do you deal with a company that just lies and doesn't do what they. Do I have to take it to the financial ombudsman?

I've got 7 mobiles with this awful company and I don't want to pay to leave on each mobile. I've also got sky tv that I'm also going to cancel out of principle

What actually does this letter say, are you going to be seeing an increase on your account each month ?

Re: Cancelling sky mobile

Hi,

thank you for replying, it's an increase in roaming charges. The email finished with the following paragraph

We hope you'll continue to enjoy our services, but if you're not happy with the changes, you can cancel your Sky Mobile subscription by calling [number had to be removed apparently] . If you're within your minimum contract period, call us within 30 days of getting this letter to avoid early termination charges. Unless you tell us otherwise, your Sky Mobile subscription will continue as normal.

Are you someone who goes abroad on a regular basis as roaming charges do not apply in the UK.

Re: Cancelling sky mobile

Yes quite regularly and when your taking 7 phones each time it starts to add up on the daily roaming passport costs. Especially when there are contracts out there that have free roaming!
