Callers saying I called them

I am continually getting calls from people saying i called their mobile. You tell them it's a scam or something and then want to report you to the police. Sky, how can this keep happening , how do you stop it , it should not happen

Any number can be spoofed so it appears to be from a particular number, in this case yours.

There isn't anything a provider can do to stop this happening unfortunately.

The people that are doing this usually move on after a while but in the meantime apart from blocking unknown callers there is t much you can do.

Unfortunately the international standard for Caller ID doesn't contain any verification system: it's trivially easy for scammers to have their auto-dialling software make any number appear to be the point of origin.
