Bill Higher than expected

On the 29th March I had an email saying I was now out of contract and had a few options, one being do nothing and just pay £8 per month for a sim only plan, which I wanted to do, at the bottom of the email again it stated I didn't need to do anything and from 28th April I will just pay £8 per month, however my direct debit was taken today (29th) and its what they previously took, £22 and pennies. I'm very confused by this

Do you have a device plan as well?  (As the mail is about the dataplan only)
