BPO collections chasing me

Hi sorry for such a long boring and negative first ever post on this forum.

I'll try and keep it as simple as possible

On Sept 3rd 2024 for some stupid reason I decided to try SKY mobile despite being burned and scarred as a previous long term SKY customer from 1997 - 2014 at 2 different adresses.

After a period of 2 years with EE , I swapped , Ireceived the phone promptly within a couple of days , all good so far.

I was promised my old number would take 48 hours maximum to port over from EE and was given a temporary number by SKY.

On Sept 8th still no number ported over so I rang SKY to ask what's going on , I also rang  on the 10th , 14th , 15th and still no number ported over yet due to various excuses including "technical problems" and "It's EE's fault the problem is all at their end"

On Sept 16th I decided I'd had enough and decided to cancel everything , as stated in the terms and conditions I have a 30 day period to change my mind and cancel.

I sent the phone back and thought that was the end of that , I recieved e mails to say everything was cancelled , also an e mail to say that Igram Micro the company I sent it back to had received the device back.

I also got 2 compensation payments sent to me from SKY I guess to compensate for not having a phone number for so long , I was without access to online banking , my work email , savings accounts and everything else you need access to in the modern world.

Finally on Sept 30th I receive a text from SKY saying congratulations your old number is now active and has been ported over to SKY a good 2 weeks after I agreed to cancel so it took SKY 27 - 28 day something like that to port my number over.

Now I have had contact from a company called BPO collections who are chasing me for arrears for the last 2 months for payments for a contract that SKY said was cancelled and a phone I haven't had since November.

I work for BA and I know we are not rated the best airline out there and I know what it can be like criticsm coming at you from all angles but SKY are the worst company out there I've ever had to deal with , you persist with Indian call centres , it's really hard work , you end up getting referred back to someone in the UK in the end anyway.

Now BPO collections have told me I need to speak to SKY about it , I asked them if they could send me an e mail address for the relevant person or department at SKY to speak to and they said they didn't have that information.

I don't really know what to do next and am facing up to the fact I'm going to have to ring them again , speak to another Indian call centre who after 15-20 questions will realise it's not their department and they cannot help , refer me back to someone in the UK who probably can help but may not and try to find out why I'm being asked to pay for a phone I no longer own.

If you want me to pay then surely you owe me a phone back , send it to me I'll sell it on and pay the bill straight away but you can't charge for a phone that you've received back 4 months ago.

Please if somebody from SKY actually reads this forum , try and help me , thanks , Neil.
