The other possibility is reused passwords - if you use the same password across different sites this can be compromised elsewhere and then used on your Sky account.

Hi @Caz710  there have been lots of reports of fraudulent orders on here. Usually involving a call from the fraudsters claiming to be from sky and offering discounts or free devices. They manage to persuade customers to hand over login details then use them to place orders.

Another way the fraudsters can get hold of the account details is if someone has responded to a fake email stating it was Sky.

@Caz710  Your account can only be accessed by agents after a customer has verified their account password, without it they cannot gain access to your account, as noted in other replies it's more likley the scammers have gotten hold of your account details either during a phone call or from a fake email.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
