Re: sky go app won't load (WINDOWS)

I happen to have tried SkyGo on many devices and for me it has never worked when installed on a computer that has RADEON or NVIDIA graphics. These graphics chips also have screen capturing features on their drivers/ software and I suspect sky deliberatly creates 'fake' crashing issue so people don't illegally stream/ record their shows via these computers. That's my theory. I tested the app on 8 different devices and i found it strange that it crashes with various different symptoms when I open it on a computer with the two big names in graphics chips hardware mentioned.

@TheLimit

Well, that IS interesting.  And seems highly plausible as my new All-in-One Lenovo computer does indeed have a RADEON AMD7 processor.  And SkyGo still works fine on my old laptop, which has an Intel processor.

I will mention this to Sky if I am ever allowed to interact with them again!  (All I get are "Do not reply" so-called updates.)  It really would be beyond the pale if Sky deliberately suppress Radeon and Invidia chips but their Technical team play schtum about that!!

Re: sky go app won't load (WINDOWS)

SKY GO definitely detects any screen recording softwares before launching, and if you are running such softwares you will get a warning that you have to close them before skygo runs on the PC. Problem is, if you have powerful graphics chips, sky cannot ask you to turn off you graphics drivers or disable your graphics chip !!!, they are stuck so they play dirty trick of making it look like the sky go app crashed randomly. This is a theory but my bet is that they are not only aware og us users having frustrating problems for months but they have actually created this problem until they find a solution that they can provide for people with such graphic chips.

Re: sky go app won't load (WINDOWS)

I'M not sure about this suggestion as Skygo was working on my Lenovo laptop until circa June when it just failed to load and I've never altered any settings..

My Partner has an almost identical laptop, same make similar spec and it has not been affected at all. All very weird, very frustrating and very annoying that Sky do nothing and don'f fulfill promises of investigations and call backs.

Sure they wil lose business because of this eventually as plenty of competition out there now so will serve them right.

Yes, I was also fine using any computer with SkyGo, my PC is a gaming PC and i never had any issues, but last year this problem started after one of the compulsory sky updates. Since then many people started reporting the SAME issue... Don't get me wrong, SkyGo never ran perfectly before anyways, haha, and always had issues here and there but we lived with it. But last year April/ May time something was changed and a massive number of people now can't use it at all.

Re: sky go app won't load (WINDOWS)

Took me ages to load Sky Go back onto my laptop (Windows 11).    Ran fine yesterday and I was able to watch tv now today it just sits in checking for updates screen then I cannot close it  down.    Hopeless.    Given how long Sky has been around (I've been with them 25 years) they could have sorted something this simple out to give customers satisfaction.
