Speed required for Sky Go

Hi

Have Sky mobile, so no data usage when watching Sky Go. 3/4G data was around 5mbps, but unable to connect to Sky Go at that speed. Hooked up to public WiFi, which immediately slowed speed to around 1mbps, and was able to watch Seagulls v Mancs. 

Is that what you'd expect?

Happened again now. 50mbps 4G but video just doesn't load. Whats the point of using this as USP of havibg Sky mobile, when it clearly doesnt work?
