SkyGo app on macbook

when launching the SkyGo app on my MacBook, it would check for updates then app screen would go black. 
deleted app and re-downloaded, restarted MacBook no the app opens. 
Now,  whenever searching the tv guide etc a message says unable to retrieve channels list, sky cinema says currently unavailable, same with box sets

Update, when clicking on the shows that come up on the Home Screen when first opening up the app, the screen then turns black too..
