Sky Go won’t work on my new Macbook

I cannot get Sky Go to work / open on my brand new Apple MacBook. I have tried everything recommended - 

quit app

turn off laptop

swithch off wifi

delete app and reload

reloaded using different browser

checked for updates

i just get error 01 - we're having problems connecting you

can anyone help?
