Sky Go - doesn't connect with new Q box

When I try to control my new Q box from Sky Go - I get this

How do I register a new Q box on Go ?

Previously - my HD box worked fine !

I can still view live channels

Just not record or view recordings

WHY ?

@Anonymous if you cannot set up recordings from the Sky Go  app  try the following 

If you still have the Sky+ app log into that If you don't have the Sky + app download it and log in.

 

Ignore the message about having Sky Q and needing to download the Q app the Sky go app replaced this

 

once in the + app press the spanner at the top left goto recordings and downloads and you should be able to set your Q box in there for remote record and remote download you may need your viewing card number I cant remember if its needed or not 


I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi

Do you have a multiscreen sub ?

Is the Sky Go app on a device that is on the same Wifi network that your Q box is on ?

I have a VIP account so run unlimited devices It fails on PC and Android

When you are not using your Q box have you tried rebooting it at the mains ?

@caesaromeyes tried that through necessity ( it has frozen twice)

There is no settings spanner on my screen (PC or tablet versions)

There is only a cog symbol with.no settings option

did you download the Sky + app to your phone ?  the spanner is in the Sky + and not the Sky go app

I installed both "Go" and "+" on my tablet - I have since then uninstalled "+" leaving Go

I have installed just "Go" to my laptop and neither my tablet or laptop allow downloading !

I can watch any/all Sky channels on either/both devices but not record to Q box or local on either....

Hi @Anonymous looked at both my phone and my tablet and taken screen shots of the Sky+ app they both have the spanner at the top left hand side of the Sky+ app see below

Once you click on the spanner in the Sky+ app it will tke you into the following screen

 choose the frecording and download to take you into seeting your box/card as below

this should allow you to then remote record 

 

another thing to check on the Sky Go app is to go into settings and check that connect to Sky Q box is turned on its the third option down on my phone

There is NO spanner on my Go installation

You are on the wrong app @Anonymous as the images posted by @Laing1 @come from the Sky+ app which can only be installed on your tablet so give this a try.
