Re: Sky Go Error
I noted that KB5101684 was blamed as the cause.
Apparently it's "Windows 11 Preview Build 26200.8942 (KB5101684)" which is a reason I don't use preview builds of anything.
Unless you have a very, very good reason for wanting to be on the "cutting edge" and get these previews accepting the risks to any software you run, I'd advise that people do not take part in MS' "preview" programme.

Re: Sky Go Error
@senec yep, Tuesday and Wednesday it was a case of Sky and Microsoft giving differing views on whom was to blame.
Yes it's MS's fault, as the Upgrade wasn't supposed to be universal .....but as you say, the complaint with Sky (Go) is the way they came across as passing blame, rather than working either MS on behalf of it's paying customers.
WARNING ALL......do not contact MS, or if you do want to, don't let them try and reset Windows to a pre-upgrade date (to by-pass the Sky Go issue).....they tried, on mine, and it uninstall Windows....If I was a conspiracy theorist I think there's something behind this.

Which is now over 24 hrs old. I think we as customers deserve a few more updates than that, but thanks for replying.

Hmm, I take a different view. If a software issue involving multiple companies is being investigated, updates that frequently are excessive. If there was anything new to add, I expect they would have done. I think the idea of daily posts saying "we are still looking into it" and then moving the tagged answer post all the time would be counterproductive and raise hopes when emails are sent out. Posters to the thread are by default subscribed to email alerts, and an email box filling up with duplicate "we are still looking into it" emails would just be more annoying than the problem already is.

Re: Sky Go Error
Whilst waiting for a resolution would it be worthwhile updaing your post to advise on the workaround, namely removing the two Windows fixes that have triggered the problem?
You go to settings -> Windows Update and pause updates for 7 days or so to prevent these fixes being re-applied. Then go to "update history", scroll to the bottom and select "uninstall updates". If either (or both) of KB5121767 and KB5101684) are installed, then uninstall them.

Re: Sky Go Error
- Always supposing they are showing up in the uninstall updates list, some of us they aren't so we are snookered as Windows won't allow them to be uninstalled 😉.

Re: Sky Go Error
Same issue here on 2 Win 11 PC, 1 Asus laptop, 1 HP desktop..
I dont have the "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" enabled.
Not all previous recent updates are availabe in the Uninstal updates list, those that are, once removed dont resolve the skygo app issue. Even after an uninstall and reinstall attempt of skygo (with reboots inbetween)...
Come on SKY... lets have an ETA on a potential new drop with a fix

Re: Sky Go Error
@RFS123 ....I don't know if suggesting a reset to an earlier date is advisable.
It may be just my bad luck, but I gave M$ Support 'remote access', they failed to uninstall and tried to 'reset Windows to before the faulty upgrade'......IT UNISTALLED WINDOWS 11....

I get it but we have to wait or uninstall the updates its a good forum this and as long as I have been on it I have always had decent help from the super users sometimes its not hit the nail on the head but come close and it has helped with other avenues.

Re: Sky Go Error
"I noted that KB5101684 was blamed as the cause."
This was actually released on Monday 20th July. But the first reports of the problem (ie the first post on this topic and many following) are from Sunday at 1.30pm. KB5121767 (the Dell fix) was released on Saturday as an optional update (not preview) and I therefore assume this was the problem for the Sunday reporters.
When I got the problem I uninstalled KB5101684 only which fixed the problem for me, yet all 3 PCs still have KB5121767 installed. All a bit of a mystery. I think the issue is likely to be with Skygo, perhaps it's doing something it shouldn't but a door has closed on that.
