I have installed SKY GO on my fathers Win 10 Pro PC. Everything downloaded and installed as far as I can see correctly. However, after the app was updated I received an error message - CONNECTING YOUR APPLICATION. We're having problems connecting you, please try again (001) - and despite "Trying again" - nothing happens.
Can anyone please advise me as to what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks

Try Sky Go.

Tried everything that you suggested. Really thought that it had worked.
This time I got ll the way to the sign in page for the username and password, but got the same error message - saying problems connection you - please try again (001)
starting to wish I'd never suggested this for my father

I've been experiencing exactly the same 001 error message. Tried the above 'solution' but still not working. I am running Windows 10 and the app worked perfectly until 4 months ago. Every time I open the app there is an immediate Update download then the screen goes blue for 2 minutes before the 'We're having trouble connecting you...001' error message appears.
I rang Sky weeks ago and they promised a call back. I am still waiting.
It seems obvious that the update is creating problems on some systems.
Can someone please give me a solution to this issue?

I've tried allowing SkyGo through the firewall to no avail. No VPN on my home network, but is activated for other networks.

Using a Windows 10 laptop, since June 2024 or there-abouts, I'm getting the same error message however I notice that the installer (and I've re-tried many times), keeps installing version 24.1.3.0 and not the latest version 24.1.3.2.
Called Sky who said the latest version (24.1.3.2.) should, be installing. They put me on-hold whilst checking for other reported incidents however, I was then transferred to another team who weren’t technical and were unable to help further. Will have to call back when I can.
Very frustrating though.

After a few weeks I've tried all the suggested solutions again but Sky Go will still not open. The 001 message just won't go away.
Anything else I can try?

Hi, I've had this problem for ages on more than one PC. I found a solution tonight.
I copied the whol directory from user/Appdata/roaming/sky and user/Appdata/roaming/skyGo to my downloads directory and I ran the skygo exe from the downloads/sky/sky go directory and it works.
I was being niggled by an .exe bwing in the AppData directory. i wornder in a Windows 11 2024H2 has some new protection related to that it seems a dangeruos thing to allow .exe files to be hidden in data directories.

This worked for me!!!
Unistall SkyGo and delete the folder Sky from C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming.
Then simply re install skyGo and login.

Thanks for the suggestions guys...sadly still the same 001 message. Surely someone at Sky must be working on this....My interractions with them on this subject have been a waste of time.☹️

Thanks also for the suggestion.
The folder – “Sky” from “C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming” was removed the last time I uninstalled the Sky Go App.
Having tried to install again today, no change.
This is on Windows 11 (new laptop).

Hi all
you are wasting your time as of 29/10/24 sky will not let you add a new Sky GO app on new PC or smart phone.
If you have on your old phone it will still work.
SKY + is now longer to be updated.
The only way is to get SKY Q.
