Do you mean you want the ability to set remote recordings from the Sky Go app? Or do you want to watch recordings made on your Q box on your iPhone via the Sky Go app?
The old Sky+ app allowed you to set remote recordings, even on a Q box, but it has been discontinued and won't be updated any longer so make sure you are using the Sky Go app instead.
To watch recordings stored on your Q box via Sky Go AFAIK you need to have a multiscreen subscription and be on the same broadband network as your main Q box.

Thank you for your reply , but Sorry if i've confused you , if I was away from home and I'd forgotten to record a particular programme , I would like to record that particular programme using my iphone ,to send an instruction to record it , something I was able to do on my old Sky+ box . I do not have multi room Thank you once again Chris

Ah yes, that's called remote record - setting something to record whilst away from home.
It's certainly possible using the Sky Go app and you do not need multiscreen. You need to make sure you have logged into the Sky Go app on your iPhone and check the settings that it has logged your viewing card and Sky Q box correctly. You can then use the TV Guide on the app to find the programme you want to record and tap the record to Sky Q box button. It'll automatically send a signal to your Q box and will record the desired programme.
If you can't get it to work on Sky Go then you can also do it via the TV Guide on the web:
You just need to log in with your regular SkyID and you can click on a programme and select record to send the signal to your Q box.

It could well be as you would have had a new viewing card when you had your Sky Q box installed and annoyingly this was quite easy to fix via the old Sky+ app but you ca't check it via the Sky Go app.
If you login to your online account is the correct viewing card appearing here and not the one you had previously in your Sky+ box:
