Late to this thread but I read about using a laptop to cast to TV. Guess the powers that be read this thread and have stopped that now.

So now I'm getting a error message 9500 on my laptop and the external output blocked message on my phone. I have deleted app and started again but stays the same. However it works fine on my tablet. There is something clearly wrong with the APP if you get 3 different events on 3 different devices. Very poor. And reading the threads SKY can't give an answer.

Try connecting an external speaker to your laptop

Or try reducing your sound settings from 24 bit 384 Khz to 16 bit 44.1 Khz within Windows sounds settings.

I did that and the laptop is working again by SkyGo still won't cast to a TV. I still can't get phone to not give exteranl message and yet when I first installed it worked fine. Any suggestions. Thanks

Update: Solved phone issue, deleted app, turned off the phone, restarted then re-installed the APP. Now working but will it happen again. ? Still can't mirror laptop Sky Go to TV or external monitor.

@Robfm as far as I am aware you have never been able to do that you can connect your laptop to a TV using a HDMI cable

In ealier posts did I not read that mirroring only worked with a laptop. I understood Sky Go detects and blocks HDMI. I could be wrong

Happy to admit II was wrong using am HDMI cable worked. Still makes no sense as others have sais that you can't mirror it doesn't alter the usage
