Re: Cannot install sky go on Mac
An update from me, on my old Macbook Pro 2015, and forced to stay on Mojave because I need to run legacy software.
I tried again, and it downloaded the latest Sky Go version, and it actually worked. It's not perfect, as it crashes a lot trying to open it, and I have to click the 're-open' button up to 10 times, but eventually it loads the player. Once open, it's fine.
Only works on Chrome, not on Safari.
The new version also came with a warning that the player would most likely not work for me in the future, as my software is outdated.
I still find it amazing that other players, like YouTube, can work flawlesly, but Sky Player can't. But there you go...

Re: Cannot install sky go on Mac
macOS Monterey 12.7.6
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)
3,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon R9 M395 2 GB
Sky Go stopped working. Uninstalled, new version now won't install. I launch the installer, it bounces few times then shuts.
My Mac is well within the minimum requirement specs.
What do I do apart from cancelling my Sky subscription?

Re: Cannot install sky go on Mac
Hiya just tried this and IT WORKED! To clarify you need to right click on the sky download file in the file finder and click on get info .. there is a check box towards the bottom that says "open with Rosetta" follow the prompts, restart machine, open the downloaded sky file ... and hey presto sky go is downloaded!

Re: Cannot install sky go on Mac
I have still have this problem.
SkyGo installer downloads, using Rosetta, SkyGo app opens "checks for updates" then
"We're having problems connecting you. Please try again
(001).
Tried again and again and again.
I'm using Sequoia 15.5 Apple M3
Tried Sky support to no avail.
Any ideas gratefully welcomed

Re: Cannot install sky go on Mac
Just Googled this as I had the same issue with my MacBook Air 13-inch, M4, 2025
I right clicked the Sky Go download in downloads > Clicked Get Info > Ticked Open using Rosetta > Just double clicked SkyGoInstaller in downloads again and it all worked!
Cheers

Re: Cannot install sky go on Mac
Thanks for responding.
I had tried that, but did it again - same result.
I just get:
CONNECTING YOUR APPLICATION
We're having problems connecting you. Please try again
(001)
Don't know wher to go from here.
Regards
Atticman

Re: Cannot install sky go on Mac
I have the same 'having trouble connecting you (001)' on my iMac running Sequoia 15.6.1 with Apple chipset. I note the instruction to rt click on download icon, but I don't get the install with Rosetta option (and anyway, I clicked that when I got the computer 2 months ago and made my first attempt to download it). I assume rosetta installed, but there seems to be no way of checking that for someone like me who lacks sthe ability to go deep into the software. Surely Sky know about this? Don't they give a t**s? Does anyone there read this forum? (don't bother answering that).
