Voice recognition failure.

Sky Stream won't allow voice recognition to work. Has worked for 3 months since we've had it installed. First Sky wouldn't work but finally got that going after trying everything, but it was very laggy initially but fine now. Only issue now is it asks to press 1 and 3 simultaneously or according to Sky, 7 and 9 and then 1 and 3 but have tried both and voice recognition still isn't working.

Is this glass or stream? If glass (where you have posted) what happens if your try the far field mic by saying hello sky? 

If steam it could be a fault with your remote. Work through the steps here: https://www.sky.com/help/sky-tv/sky-tv-stream/setting-up-sky-stream/articles/remote-control-help-sky...

Step 5 will allow you to order a replacement.

It's Sky Stream, not Glass. When I click voice command, it just says I need to register my remote and to press 1 and 3 simultaneously. I've tried that and more.

Now additionally, the volume buttons aren't working (including mute). They work with the Samsung remote.

Try the below 

The remote can be reset and paired again following these steps;

1.   Press and hold 7 and 9 together on your Sky remote for three seconds.
2.   Press and hold 4 and 6 together for three seconds.
3.   Press and hold 1 and 3 together for three seconds and follow the on-screen instructions.
