Used Equipment Being Sold As New

I recently paid £1199.00 for a 65" Glass TV and had it delivered on Sunday 8th March. Box was a bit battered so I asked the courier to note it in his photos. When opened I found no damage to the TV however after turning the set around to fit a bracket, I noticed a lot of weird dusty marks on the cabinet and also the recess where the HDMI/USB plugs fit, was vey dusty - suggesting that the TV was not new - perhaps a customer return ?

After speaking to Sky about this they are refusing to do anything about it other than for me to return it under the 30 day cooling off period - at my own expense, ie £25.00. I've refused to pay £25.00 as this was not my mistake, and Sky have refused to cover the cost, so currently we are at a bit of an impass.

Has anyone else experienced this and what was the outcome ?

I won't let it rest, I'm giving them ample opportunity to resolve the matter after which it will be escalated via trading standards.

Hi @Bobthespark Sky will often replace a faulty Glass TV with a refurbished one but in your case I'm assuming you were purchasing a brand new TV so you definitely should not have received a refurbished unit.

If I was in your situation I would make a formal complaint to Sky which can be done at the following link:
