Swapping plug on sky air

I have a feature wall and there is a space for the plug but it is too tight. I want to wire the TV to a spur socket. Will this invalidate the warranty on the tv by removing the 3 pin uk plug?

Hi @Jtwesty and welcome to the forum.  The connection that goes into the back of the glass TV is just a simple figure 8 plug so purchase one of those from any electrical store and remove the UK 3 pin plug (leaving the Sky lead intact).

@Jtwesty  A spur type socket isn't designed for TV, it's generally used for Heaters, Boilers, Water Tanks etc.

So yes any issues you encounter due to an incorrect power supply would invalidate a warranty.

Thanks I was thinking the same? as power supply is from same source  voltage amps etc its like replacing plug for direct connection but was worried about warranty. Thanks for your reply . First time on forum so don't know how to like etc!

Maybe use a fused spur with the same fuse as the plug ? - that way you have kept things the same surely ?
