Sky Glass Dropping Wifi even when using ethernet

I've had a Sky Glass tv for a few months and almost every other time I switch it on I get told it can't connect to Wifi. The WiFi option is deselected as I'm using an ethernet cable direct to my BT fibre router but I have to unplug the tv front the power to get it to reset. I've also tried various other tips such as resetting the apps etc, chamging standby modes etc but nothing works. The problem also occasionally occurs on a sky repeater box connected to another tv. All in all, it's really annoying and makes me wish I'd never got the Sky Glass system. Has anyone got any bright ideas that don't involve a sledgehammer? Thanks in advance.

This is a problem that does seem to pop up now again and I'm not sure its been resolved for some customers

As you are using etherent, have you in the Sky Glass network settings turned off wifi?

It will at times move over to a wifi connection, rather than the ethernet connection, if that is not set.

I think from your post yiu may have already done so.

Even, if you have, try toggling off and on and then do a settings restart of the Sky Glass TV straight away to see if that helps set the option.

One thing you could try, as using ethernet is to assign a fixed local ip on your BT router, that may help keep the connection more active.

Re: Sky Glass Dropping Wifi even when using ethernet

Configure your Glass to use a static IP address. This requires router configuration, not the TV as it has limited options.

Sky Glass 55" - Gen 2, Sky Glass 43" - Gen 2, Sky Glass 43" - Air (all on ethernet) & three Stream Pucks (all unused gathering dust in a drawer) powered by Vodafone Full Fibre - 910

Router? Two TP-Link Deco BE65’s (v2 / Firmware Version: 1.3.5)

Re: Sky Glass Dropping Wifi even when using ethernet

Thank you. I've got wifi switched off but have toggled it on and off and reset the TV so will see what happens. I'll look into the fixed IP address idea too. I've heard it suggested that we should try to wake the TV up using the Home rather than power button so will try that too. Cheers
