The Mandatory Daytime Protection PIN is required each time a channel carrying post-watershed content before 21:00 is selected.

On Sky that's typically Atlantic, Documentaries, Comedy and many of the Cinema channels.

MDP, as the name suggests, cannot be removed by the user of a subscription television platform: it's what permits such content to be listed in the EPG in the first place.

Re: PIN

I just found this post when trying to sort out my own PIN issue, did you try the last 4 digits of your mobile/land line number? That worked for me , and even thou once in I checked the boxes all over the place to not ask for a PIN anywhere.......... its still does!

The options are for additional levels of parental control.  Mandatory Daytime Protection, as the name suggests, cannot be opted-out.

A big bugbear of mine. Once you've entered the PIN you should really be left alone. But no. If it's any help I've never been bothered by this issue on Now, so that's where I now get my Sky content.
