Old School user interface

My father is 87 and struggles with the user interface on a Sky Glass Gen 2 TV and a Sky Stream puck. Does anyone know if there is a way to have the classic user interface of just TV channels? He has no interest or desire to watch shows from the start or old episodes of anything. Even if I had to swap the puck for the old sytle box.  Thanks for you help.

@TommyM1  There is no "classic" interface, Sky Glass/Stream is a very different system from Sky+HD for example.  Is this the system they had prior to Glass?

You also can't have Sky Glass/Stream any Sky+HD/Sky Q on the same account so you can't swap the stream puck for one of the older Sky TV b oxes.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

If you had Sky Q before then you can still revert back to it by calling Sky. They will still install a satellite dish and Q box if that was the "old style" box your father was used to.

You can return the Glass TV if you've had it less than 30 days or you can keep it, continue to pay for it (if you've not already done so) and attach the Sky Q box to it or any other TV with an HDMI port.

Plenty of options are available.

Re: Old School user interface

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunetely he hasn't had sky before, just a generic free to air satalite dish on the roof that stopped working last year. I felt sorry for him sittting there all day so decided to get Sky in. I've emailed Sky so hopefully they will get back to me. Thanks again.

Email generally doesn't work with Sky support, but all they could tell you would be there's no option to have any current Sky hardware (Q, Glass or Stream) start up with a simplified interface (i.e. just a numbered live channel list)

This is something some of us have been suggesting for years, but they apparently regard the commercial value of the Home page as more important than accessibility.

The closest workaround is creation of a 'Favourites' list, but this still needs to be navigated to.
