Don't change to a Sky Glass TV as the muffled background sounds are very distracting and occour across all channels at times for half an hour to two hours by which time I have muted the sound and followed programme by subtitles, this is not what I bought a Sky Glass TV for. If you are elderly or not particularly technically minded then you will find the Shy phone helpline guidance very challenging. Everything has been tried by phone with Sky advisors including upgrading my WIFI, to no avail. I want Sky to replace or take the TV away to be fixed, that is my next step. Advice please from anyone with the same problem .

Hi @Aimee431 and welcome to the forum. I no longer have Glass (just the puck) but when I did the sound quality was the best feature so I suspect you have a faulty unit.
To get you some help with this I have escalated your post to the Sky Community Messaging Team who will send you an invitation for a private online chat.
The link below explains how the procedure works
https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Did-you-know/Escalating-a-post-to-a-Sky-expert/ba-p/3711147
Keep a look out for the speech chat bubble that will appear on the bottom left of your screen when you are logged onto this forum (you will need to refresh your browser from time to time until you see the chat bubble). When the blue bubble does appear you have 48 hours to respond or the chat will be automatically closed.

Re: Muffled Background Noises Sky Glass
Mark, thank you for your prompt response,, when you say that I may have a Faulty unit, do yo mean within the TV? I have had the TV for less than 2 years and this problem is fairly recent perhaps 3 or4 months, I am wondering if it is echoing problem, but then why intermittent. I have managed to follow most if not all of the Sky instructions by phone so far, so look forward to hearing from them further. The Puck makes no difference at all. At the age of 83 I find all of this very stressful and difficult. Do you know offhand if I brought in a TV engineer of my own would I be compromising the terms of the
agreement with Sky?

Re: Muffled Background Noises Sky Glass
Hi @Aimee431 I'm sure it is frustrating at any age (i'm not far behind you). I suspect a fault has developed in your Glass TV especially as it was not having sound problems in the past. I note your TV is less than 2 years old so it is still under warranty so I would not call in a TV engineer at the moment as this might void the warranty (I don't know this for a fact but personally I wouldn't take the chance.
I have escalated your post so have a look at the link I provided and keep a look out for speech bubble when it appears and click on it. You will then be able to have an online chat with the community messaging team.
