Clearing "Continue Watching "

Why can't Sky add a delete button for Continue Watching? It's even worse now with the Disney platform added. I have deleted from my Disney platform but it still remains on my Sky Glass platform.  I am left with all these movies etc, that I don't want to watch and it's very frustrating. Come on Sky, please do something.

Hi @ck120   I am aware that Sky know that it's a frequently requested feature as I have mentioned it many times on the closed forum, however I don't know if it is on their priority list.

About 3 years ago I made a list of how to remove items from the CW rail to help me remember.  I will cut & paste this list below but please be aware that some methods might be out of date

The most common method which generally works with Sky, Discovery, ITVX  and Disney is to select the programme from the CW rail and fast forward it to the end.  If it is a series then also run the last episode of the series to the end otherwise the next episode will appear in the CW rail. (I haven't tried removing anything from HBO but would try this method first).

Depending on the App you watched from there are so many different ways to remove programmes from CW. Some you have to do on your TV and others on your Laptop etc.

Do on TV:

Apple TV - select from Up Next list with a LONG press / remove from watchlist

Netflix - Select from CW / remove from CW on next page

Sky, Discovery, ITVX, Disney & Amazon Prime - run programme to credits and allow to run to the end.  If a series do the same with the final episode of the series.  (It may take a while to disappear)

My5 - Go to settings and select Clear Watch History

Do on laptop:

BBC iPlayer  - CW / Manage full list (on right of screen) / remove

Ch4 / CW - go to My4 > / edit / select then remove

Paramount - Hover over programme and untick

Prime - If running it through the end didn’t work then TRY going to Amazon > Prime Video and select the CW rail. Hover over programme and a dropdown will appear where you can select delete from CW.

Sometimes it can take a while for the programme to disappear and on other occasions they stubbornly remain. It's a bit of a lottery.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

@Jporch316 One day i'll get around to checking it and updating it where necessary but it is still useful as it is.  As far as a delete button goes don't get me started 🤣

@MarkGoldsmith  If it was going to be added it would need to be updated first.

The HBO Max continue watching rail is independent of the SkyOS continue watching rail. The issue is with Sky's servers and metadata management.

If it's a movie it's easy.

if you are half way through a movie and viewed on HBO Max and it's on Sky Stream/Glass continue watching.

Go to your HBO Max Home Screen, scroll down to the HBO Max rail that says continue watching.

Click on the movie or prog tile and keep it pressed, you will then get a Remove switch on the tile on that continue watching rail  and x to remove.

Exit the app, switch to something else like a linear tv channel, on demand or app, then go to Sky Glass/Stream continue watching rail and it will be gone.

I just in last half hour added Man of Steel in HBO and I did just that.

For multiple series, if they are finished, you may have to go to last episode and remove.

If they are playing out an episode by week, it should pull up the next available episode, like it has for the last few weeks The Pitt for me. Plus, also in addition you could remove from playlist or Playlist Manage all if it's there to be sure.

Re: Clearing "Continue Watching "

Netflix is terrible on the Continue Rail, you get to the end of a show, then get previews for other films etc., then go back to the rail it's still there is a nightmare, I use Apple tv for Netflix it's easier to get rid of watched programs

Hi Steve933  removing a Netflixx programme from the CW rail is actually one of the easier ones.

When you select the programme from your CW rail you are taken to theNetflixx app.  You will then see various options such as play etc if you scroll down you will see an option to Remove from CW rail which you should select.  This can also be done by going directly into the app instead of the Sky CW rail..

When you go back to the Sky home page CW rail if it is still there just refresh the page and it should disappear.

Good luck, I hope it helps.

Re: Clearing "Continue Watching "

Totally agree Netflix is one of the best and I've never really had an issue with the CW Rail with Netflix.

If only all of the apps were the same!
