I've just taken delivery of my Gen 2, replacing my Gen 1. The upgrades are incremental but my first impression is that as the improvements are in every part of the experience, it makes for an all round great upgrade – the remote feels nicer, the TV looks slicker (and better built), the stand is cleaner, the colour is tweaked, and then the improvements to the screen and sound (and viewing angles), no magnetic facia to pull off. Just seems every single part of it has been improved.
I've also got the Sky Glass Wall Mount and will report back when I get it hung up.

Mine is arriving on monday and would like to know if the wall mount is any better as the prevous made the bottom of the glass stick out.

The wall mount is miles better, but you'd expect that to be the case as the official one is now £99.

Did your playlists automatically transfer or do you have to set them up again?

Playlists are linked to your Sky account and stored on Sky's servers so they will transfer across whenever you register a new Sky streaing device to your sky account.

They transfer across, you would need to log back in to the apps (except netflix which is linked to your profile).

If I just change tv will Glass Gen 2 fit a normal wall bracket, or do I need the advertised one?

Hi all,
Just thought I would post a little review on my first impressions so far...
Overall score - 8/10
Picture - definitely an improvement. Black tones are definitely more true to black, and overall vibrancy feels better. The strange ghost marks and stripes appear to also be gone. Overall a good step forward, gamers will be a bit annoyed at the lack of 120hz but tbh, as a casual gamer, I see no issues at all.
Sound - I feel like this has really stepped forward. Bass is certainly better. It takes a bit of getting used to as the soundscape does feel different but definitely better! Much more immersive.
Build - it feels much more premium, unsure why but it just has a nicer texture and feel to it. The arctic white is lovely!
just my first impressions, but if you are at the end of your agreement on Gen1 I feel that it's great. If you are happy with the continuing monthly payment of course.

I have one on order. I currently use a sounbar with my tv. Do you think the Gen 2 sound will be fine without a soundbar?

I'd say yes if you aren't a major audio person! Its perfectly good and has enough bass for the regular person. I think anyway! Glass one bass was AWFUL!

Thanks. I won't get rid of my soundbar until I have tried the Gen 2 for a wee while.

Does the glass 2 have custom picture settings like the first one as I couldn't see it in the information that was released?

Yep.
Gen 1 and Gen 2 both run on Sky OS so they have the same picture settings.
Gen 2 has an extra one at launch that is coming to Gen 1 called "Extra Vivid" or similar.
You can also tweak as before.
