When fast forwarding Sky TV through stream. Majority of the time it goes back to the beginning of the program. Anyone know why.

Because it's a bit rubbish.
Fast forwarding on Stream is atrocious. It's largely why I've stopped using mine for day to day use.

Just stop before the end of the fastfoward.

Sometimes I've noticed when fast forwarding through ads on a series link recorded programme that it just freezes up. You click Play/Rewind/Fast Forward and it doesn't respond despite showing you the respective icons on screen (i.e. the Play icon).
To get around this, I usually have to restart the box. This is an annoying issue that has happened many times to me.
Typically when I am like 27mins into a 30min episode, this happens and then I'm unable to get back to the episode through the "continue watching" section because the Sky system thinks I've finished watching that episode (when in fact I haven't!)
I then have to go to my playlist and manually find the episode (sometimes having to scroll quite a bit if the episodes are in chronological order). Sometimes, episodes disappear and you can only see the last episode being listed as one from like 4 months back.
This is quite a frustrating issue and something I've unfortunately encountered many times.
On a good day, I'm able to find the episode manually and navigate to where I was before the Sky puck froze up.
All in all, this is a pretty poor user experience, which Sky should look into as a priority. At this point, I am not feeling encouraged to renew my TV package with them.

This happens for me almost every time. I've updated, reset had software updates since having glass (3 months I think).
Concluded that sky glass is just useless. If I could go back to + I would. Had no end of problems
