Streaming issue with films

Just switched to Glass and have just discovered this 'quirk' where if you add a film with a (pointless) break in the middle, it only saves half the film in the playlist, yet it shows the whole thing as being 'added'. My god, it's annoying. What's the point of a playlist for watching or saving stuff for later if you only get half the content?

@Clarey13x this has been an annoyance from way before Stream was introduced as it often affects the satellite boxes as well and happens if the broadcaster does not link the two parts properly. .

However as often happens these channels only buy broadcast rights so they cannot be played from the Playlist and when you try you get offered the movie from an app like Prime who do have the rights to the stream. After a while you will see that with these channels unless you can watch a movie as broadcast just ignore the showing.

The break is apparently added to allow for more ad breaks..

@Clarey13x  did you manage to cloud record half of a movie and are to access from your playlist?

Re: Streaming issue with films

Hi, yes, only the first half is 'recorded'- the half before the break. Despite it saying  the whole thing is added when I hit 'add' . I guess it's just one of those annoying things as it looks like there's no fix.

The two parts are separate programmes.... so both need to be scheduled?

That's how it worked on Q, but not with glass 😊 If you try and add the second part it shows as already added.

It's because the film is one programme and that's how the cloud linking works. It's not like the film is broken into episodes but some of the broadcasters treat it as such by splitting it into two halves like it's 2 separate shows.
