Sky glass upgrading broadband speed
Hi,
we currently are on sky "super fast" broadband and get around 40-45mbps download speeds. We currently have a regular tv, with a sky q box for on demand stuff, along with the sky sports package.
In our house there are 3 children, and 4 adults at times using devices. Phones, tablets and 1 console.
we've been very tempted with sky glass, as it'd save us a lot of space in the meantime.
I was just wondering whether our speeds will be okay enough to have sky glass? Or would I also need an Ethernet?

Your broadband simply won't be fast enough for Sky Glass to function with any sort of reliability if you have that number of people potentially sucking up bandwidth on what's already a relatively slow connection.
Sky Glass relies on a constant fast and stable connection to Sky's servers. Without this it will suffer from intermittent freezing, apps not loading, and general instability. Even connecting to your router via ethernet cable it will still be susceptible to speed fluctuations if anyone else in the household starts using another device on wifi.
I would not recommend Sky Glass based on the household situation you describe.

Ethernet is internal cabling as an alternative to WiFi for internal distribution of the internet connection.
Speed arriving at the address is upgraded through moving to an Ultrafast broadband service (where available)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
