Sky glass tv issues

Had my sky glass tv only 3 months it always had a sound problem like crackling and it got worse over time so I contacted sky and they sent me a replacement, they said it will be a refurbished set which I wasn't happy about but they assured me it would be of new condition to the same standard as mine, I received the replacement today and straight away noticed picture quality was not as good, i done some screen tests with white screen etc and noticed a lot of dark patches and tint around the screen, whites are not white and there is distortions so it has clearly been used a long time and merely second hand condition at best, I'm not paying for a brand new tv only to get a second hand one which probably has a short life span, I don't want another second hand replacement I just want them to collect it now and cancel the credit agreement as I know my consumer rights and I will definitely be taking this further if they refuse to cancel.

Unfortunately some new sets are shipped with "screen ghosting" and visible shadow lines

the replacement set you received will still be under the original sets warranty and you should call sky to arrange another replacement.

Re: Sky glass tv issues

Update, sky arranged another replacement set as they agreed it had ghosting and banding on my screen, the second replacement is slightly better but it still has noticeable banding and has clearly been used for some time before, neither of the replacement sets have had the same picture quality as my first new set I should of just kept the original one and got a sound bar for it, I even asked sky if I could my first set back and they said its not possible, I would understand if I had the TV a long time but only 3 months, they assure me it's a grade A replacement but this clearly isn't the case, no doubt any replacement they send will have an issue of some sort which is why it has been previously returned, so I would advise against sky glass unless you want to pay a grand for a second hand tv 🤷

@Lukew I don't think it's a case of them having been used a lot. It's just that a lot of them aren't very good. Why not see if you can switch to Sky Stream and buy a decent TV instead.

@Lukew

I had 5 replacements within the first two months of having glass in April 22

or was it 6?

one sound issue and the rest varying degrees of ghosting and shadow lines

Re: Sky glass tv issues

I think you may be right there but they are only sending me these refurbished ones with problems unlike my first which was a great picture and no banding. I would just get a different tv but they won't let me return it so I'm stuck paying for it for 4 years, only 3 months in I thought they would replace with a new set seeing as it's not my fault they are made so bad they have faults, if it was a shop they would refund or replace with new not someone else's badly refurbished return, I'm contacting citizens advice under the consumer rights act as they have to replace it to the standard quality of what I paid for and neither of these refurbished replacements come close! Who's working in quality control at sky as I think they are keeping the grade As for themselves and sending out the rejects 🤣
