I turn the sky glass tv off using the remote but if left for a couple of hours the tv automatically switches on

Sky Glass has 'Glance Motion Technology' so if you are in the room the TV will come on. Sometimes pets can also trigger this.

You can turn this off in the menu as described in that article. If you have turned this off and the TV is still springing to life, try powering off at the mains for 10 minutes.

@ben115 In addition to the post by @mikealanr I found I had a much more stable Glass TV experience when I turned OFF all the options in the Start up & Standby menu except for Networked Standby Mode which is best left ON.
