Sky glass and sky Q 2 banners

I have a sky glass tv linked to a sky Q box. However there are 2 banners appearing at the bottom of the screen as though the 2 systems are working at the same time. I had heard that I needed a sky touch remote however when requested this from sky it was refused

Sky hasn't made a touch remote for several years: those were only produced for the first couple of Q box models in 2016-18.  For Glass televisions without a Sky subscription there's a version of the Glass remote without Voice Control, and with dedicated buttons for YouTube and Netflix.

@Jill have you disconnected the Sky Glass TV from the internet?

The problem you have is that the q remote also works via IR with the glass tv. Some users actually use the old q remote with the glass instead of the supplied remote. The glass remote is Bluetooth connected.

there was a thread on here going back a year or so that had a fix for this issue. Unfortunately with so many threads on here regarding remotes I'm having trouble finding it.

Is the banner info obtained via the internet?
