Hi. Can I add a sky sports football match to my play list and watch the whole game the following day from my playlist. I ask this as I'm considering sky glass, my Brother has it already and he says you can

so to be clear. To watch a live football match from sky sports I just add to playlist from tv guide and I will be able to watch the complet game the next day if I want to. F1 then is slightly different if I understand correctly. Thanks

Sorry my IPad lost commas. My brother says you can't add live football from sky sports then watch the next day with sky glass

It sort of depends. Live sports are notoriously unpredictable when it comes to being able to playlist them for viewing later. There's a reason Sky started using the marketing of 'It's Only Live Once' for much its sports service.
Some customers state that if you add a match to your playlist from a specific live sports channel then it will give you access to a 'cloud recording' the next day. How long this will be available for (or indeed if it's available at all) seems to vary.
I would suggest that you perhaps try the Sky Stream service which is identical to the streaming service offered by Sky Glass, just without the over-priced TV attached. You can then try for yourself to see if it gives you the type of service you want.

Yes you can add football from sky sports to playlist to watch next day
Cloud recordings happen in real time
You can click watch from start while a match is still a live broadcast
Also after match ends it's in your playlist for playback
Important add to playlist from Tv Guide listing
If it has a series link it will record future matches
If it don't mention series it will record that game only
Sky Sports/TNT Sports can be added to playlist for plaback
Premier Sports Republic of Ireland only
Saturday 3PM matches can be added to playlist for playback
Some broadcasts can get removed from playlist after a few weeks and some after a few days
Note
Some broadcasts in playlist can look to have gone for good but show up again a few days later
Examples of Playlist recordings
Saturday recent Premier League games on TNT Sports Playlist
Sunday Live recent premier league games on Sky Sports Playlist

Hi Paul +Boland. Thanks for your reply. As I'm not very technical what ' watch from cloud recording mean' thanks Annette

Sky Glass/Sky Stream does not have a hard drive
Recordings are done on Sky Cloud Server
When you click play it playback from that cloud server

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreCan't say i've tried this with football as i'm always watched that live. But i have done it with the F1 for the events at a more unsocial hour 😀
For F1 this is what seems to have:
There is a cloud recording made available, however this only seems to be available for a limited time afterwards. What then seems to happen is the cloud recording is removed, and then a few hours later is replaced by the full on-demand replay, with all the ads etc removed. So there does appear to be a period where no recording/replay is available. I could be wrong but for F1 i think the cloud recording gets removed right before they broadcast the full replay on the Sky Sports F1 channel, and then once that is completed, a few hours after that broadcast the replay is uploaded.

Live Football is different
The recording are full game broadcast recorded
Premier League for example only highlights happen later these are not full game repeats and have a separate playlist to live
F1 yes that happens as the broadcasts get repeated in full so that is why sometimes get replaced with on demand version

Yes use TV Guide to add to playlist before live broadcast starts.
If it has series listed when adding to playlist you don't need to repeat adding to playlist as it will set to auto record next live match scheduled
Example Next Saturday January 20th
TV Guide
Sky Sports
Scroll with remote to Sky Sports Live SNF: Brentford v N. Forest
Remote click red + button to add to playlist
TNT Sports
Saturday January 20th
TV Guide Live: Arsenal v Crystal Palace
If you have UHD & Dolby Atmos pack subscription and want recording be UHD version
When using TV Guide to add to playlist select the UHD Channel listing in TV Guide to add to playlist and also make sure in picture settings you have selected UHD as your preferred streaming format
Note when it's a live broadcast it will have Live listed in title in TV Guide listing
To add to playlist for Sunday live matches
Do the same add to playlist from TV Guide
There is also highlights broadcasts next day these won't have live in TV Guide listings
The highlights most are 30 min
You can add to playlist these also and will have It's own separate series link playlist called Premier League
