Sky Q upgrade to Sky glass air

Need a bit of advice. Have currently got sky Q, signature pack and 3 multiroom boxes. I need to get a new tv and was going to buy one outright then I saw on Sky’s website that sky glass air is coming which I like the look of the tv. I spoke to sky on text and they quoted me £69 a month which is about £12 more than what I pay now. I know in 2029 they are not renewing the satellites so sky Q will no longer be updated and will be obsolete so will eventually have to go for full streaming anyway which I have the speeds for but don’t know if it will be worse. So do I buy a tv out right or change sky and prepare for the future now? I did say to the sky chat team I also wanted to go into there stores and speak to them. I’ve seen the normal sky glass in there as they had it set up but wanted to at least look at the sky glass air before I committed. They did also say the stores can give you the better deals than they can. What would you do??

If you buy sky glass / sky air tv then you have  to get a whole new  subscription, your sky q box and mine  boxes will  need  to  go back to sky and you will  need  to also need to replace  the mine boxes for sky steam pucks and in the first month  you will have 2 bills to pay, your  sky q bill and your  sky stream subscription and the tv if you  buy it on 24/48 months  contract, also each puck is £39.99  to buy, and you will  need a whole home subscription  and all recordings on your  sky q will be lost sky glass/ air tvs  and pucks are Internet  connection  not satellite dish  and only have hdmi inputs  and  an aerial input, you can't  record  on steam you have play lists

Just letting  you  know, I  have  had sky glass since November 2021 and a sky stream  puck, and i  changed  from  sky q  as soon as I activated  my sky glass  tv my sky q subscription  stopped  and my next bill  was 1 for sky glass  subscription  with my package  including  my whole home  subscription as and my final sky q bill, three weeks later  i  received  my packaging to send my sky q equipment including  the mini box  back, I  now have a sky glass tv gen 1 55inch/ a sky glass tv  gen 2 55inch  and a puck and a sky live camera, if you  don't  have  sports, cinema kids and get the 43inch  sky air tv over 48 months after  the £20 first payment when you  order  the tv, that will  be £6.00 a month and the minimum sky tv subscription  is £15.00 a month  and i  believe  that the whole  home  subscription  is £10.00 a month  plus what ever other  things you want to  subscribe to and you need a strong broadband speed. To watch  in HD you need for 1 tv or puck and minimum  of 25mps and  to watch  in uhd  again  for each device  you need a minimum of 35mps aswell

Re: Sky Q upgrade to Sky glass air

I have a 900mbps internet speed so should be capable of it working correctly. Do you regret leaving sky Q?

You don't  get plus 1 channels  or channels  like talking  pictures, you do get the app some of which  you will have to  subscribe  to to use like Disney plus paramount plus amazon prime, but you also get bbc iplayer itvx  c4, and 5, also unlike  sky q where you can  fast forward. You have to pay for add skipping aswell

But you can ask the tv to look  for a series  and it will show them on all channels  and apps and if you subscribe  to the apps that it is on and add it to you play list when you  click on that episode  it goes straight to  it and plays no looking on different  apps for the next  episode

Re: Sky Q upgrade to Sky glass air

Might go and get advice from the store. I would need 3 multiroom pucks also, might go and talk to the sky store. See if I can see one running in there.

As i  said earlier  3 pucks will cost you just under £120 up front, as they are £39.99 each and if you leave sky the tv is yours but the pucks are only rented and have to be returned
